Sydney's 9th Birthday!

Sydney's Rock Star Spa Day

I followed through with my plan to make Sydney's birthday party smaller and less chaotic than previous years. We moved to just one party. Instead of inviting all the girls from her class, Sydney chose a few of her closest friends. She was sad that Kiley & Mackenzie and Gracie & Abby couldn't make it, but had fun none the less!

Owen - 10 Months

We are getting so close to 1 and it is making me a little sad! You need to be a baby for at least another year.

About a week ago I checked your monitor after a nap and found you sitting in your crib, not laying down playing with your toes as you usually do. You are now going from a laying position to sitting on your own all day long! With this, you are also figuring out how to scoot yourself to get to what you want. You don't go far and it is a long process, but you're getting it!

You can stand against the couch and play with toys as long as someone is right there to catch you when you have decided you are done. You have not quite mastered the dismantle yet :)

When we ask, "How big is Owen?" You will lift your hands up high and smile as we say, "SO BIG!"

You are babbling a lot. Dadadadada is your favorite, followed by uhhh uhhh oh.

Eating & Sleeping are going well. You nurse about every 3 hours & eat 3 meals of solids each day. You're not much of a picky eater anymore. Current favorites are: Pureed Pears, Bananas, Carrots, Green Beans/Peas, and any of the Earth's Best fruits, veggies or dinners we buy. You can now eat puffs & yogurt melts without choking and thoroughly enjoy eating with your fingers. We've started you on table foods when daddy & I took you to dinner at Spaghetti Factory the other night. You couldn't get enough ravioli!
You're going to bed between 6:30-7 each night and sleeping until 5:30am. You wake to nurse and go back to sleep until 7am. Throughout the day you take 2 naps for about an hour and a half each.

Sydney's First Day of 3rd Grade

For the past week Sydney has been so anxious to start the school year! I'm so happy to have a daughter who LOVES school! I think she's most excited about seeing her friends everyday (and learning cursive), over learning, but what else do you expect from a 3rd grade girl?

Visiting Aunt Kathy's class on the first day.
