Winter Vacation Fun!

Each Christmas I am fortunate enough to be able to take off a week or two during Sydney's Winter Vacation. We spend the time being lazy around the house, playing with friends, shopping, having coffee dates, and for the past two years we've played in the snow! While it only lasted about 48 hours, we still loved it. After the snow storm last year that hung around well over a week, I was more than happy to see the snow melt away so quickly this year.

The Christmas Tree Hunt

This year we found a new Christmas tree farm, Beck's U-Cut & Sheep Farm. There was a huge selection of tree sizes & types. Rumor has it you can grab a bag of squash and feed the sheep on the farm after picking out your tree and enjoying some cider or hot cocoa & cookies. I wouldn't know because I voted for getting in the car and leaving ASAP since I could no longer feel my hands or toes! It was COLD outside!

Mama's Christmas Present

Welcome to the office. Look what Tim bought me for Christmas - It's a Cricut Expression! I have been looking at these online for quite some time, but didn't know if I would use it enough to make up for the hefty price tag. Turns out a certain someone can get a great deal on an Expression through ebay!

Looks like Tim is pretty proud of himself! Don't bother trying to get my attention, I'll be busy for the next few hours.

and Sydney....well, she just didn't care about any of it. She made herself a little bed on the living room floor and watched TV while Mama was occupied.

Update: Sydney has since discovered the amazing abilities of the Cricut and is within inches of the machine as soon as she hears it turn on!

Home Sweet Home

Christmas in our new home was wonderful! We hosted the annual Christmas brunch with the family, and had my brother and the family over again during his trip home from San Diego. We even had a day of snow to enjoy!
