36 weeks & 3 days

We had another successful prenatal appointment. I'm measuring at 37 weeks. Baby Child is head down, but still pretty high. The heartbeat was strong and I'm dilated to 1.5 cm. While I'm excited about that, I also know that it doesn't mean the baby is coming this week. I could sit at 1.5 for another week or two before anything happens. I have been having contractions daily for the past few weeks, but nothing regular. Maybe my November 8th prediction will come true though :)

Over the last 2 weeks I have had moments where I'll go from not wanting anything to eat, to not being able get food in my mouth quick enough! This baby is definitely putting on the pounds right now. I'm up another 4 lbs. from my last appointment, for a grand total of 28lbs! I'm still feeling good, no major complaints. Most of the movement I feel is around the center of my belly & the right side. Thankfully I rarely get kicked in the ribs this time around!

Sydney is getting excited to meet her brother or sister. She's not typically a cuddly little girl, but over the past few days she has been laying on the couch with me rubbing my belly and talking to the baby. I think she's going to make a fantastic big sister!

Babymoon

After having such a fun weekend away in Seattle last month it seemed appropriate to enjoy another weekend getaway before Baby Child arrives. Sydney had an overnight adventure with Papa & Sue while we were gone.
We started our afternoon off with lunch at the Deschutes Brewery in the Pearl district before checking into our Junior Suite at the Benson Hotel. Later we walked down to the Pioneer Place theater to watch a movie & over to Huber's for Happy Hour. We ended the evening with dinner at the hotel in The Palm Court Restaurant listening to a jazz band before crashing in bed. Sleeping in the next morning felt so good! We ended our stay with an incredible Champagne Brunch at The London Grill, also located in the hotel. I really appreciated that they put this pregnant chick right next to the dessert table.... They scored big points with me, especially because I couldn't drink the champagne!
I'm feeling rested & relaxed, and feeling like this baby could arrive at any moment!

Basketball

When thinking about signing Sydney up for Fall soccer again this year it crossed my mind that I would be 8-9 months pregnant standing on a wet soccer field freezing my rear off twice a week, so we declined to sign her up. The little missy was not too happy with this. However, The Ivester family signed up Drew & Lucy for basketball and asked if Sydney also wanted to play. We quickly said yes! Now this is a sport I can work with! Indoors, practices start in November, games begin in January & they play through until Spring Break. Perfect! It's also local so we don't have to drive across town for games.

The teams are organized by 1-2nd grade, 3-4th grade, etc... If all goes well, Sydney will be playing on the same team as Lucy. We went to team placement tryouts a few days ago & I snapped a few (poor quality) pics on my cell camera. Good luck Girlies!!

Liepold Farms Pumpkin Patch

We took our annual trip to the Pumpkin Patch at Liepold Farms. This is our second year coming here & we love it so much! Last year we came with the Linke family & this year we ventured out with the Downing family. There is so much to do & it is not nearly as crowded as Sauvie's Island.
Start the afternoon off right with a Caramel Apple!

Checking out the animals - specifically the little piggies.

I love my family!

Sydney powering the Whirly Gig.

What a fun ride that was but my arms are WARN OUT, Mommy!

Prepping for the Apple Pull.

Puuuuuuuuuuuuull!

Seriously huge tractor!

Lillian & Sydney found the perfect pumpkin.

So did daddy!

Baby Shower

34 week Belly Profile

As if she hasn't showered us with enough... Stacey was so gracious to host a baby shower for Baby Charlot at our house this weekend with aunties & cousins. It was fun to have it at our house since a lot of the family hasn't seen it since we moved in a year ago. It also gave me a reason to clean the house! These days I really need a reason to clean. I can't complain about not having to load a car with gifts and unload them once I got home either!

Stacey went all out with yummy food (which I didn't get a picture of) & adorable gender neutral decorations (Now those are hard to find!)

Instead of playing shower games, which I don't like, we put up lists for baby name suggestions & arrival stats. I learned of some pretty interesting family names that I don't think I'll be copying! Ha!

Thanks for a fabulous shower, Auntie Stacey!

Jog-a-thon!

33 weeks & 1 day

Baby Child is still growing just as he/she should be! I'm measuring right on schedule & the heartbeat was healthy at 140. Our doctor tried to determine the position of the baby, but couldn't quite figure it out. Her best guess was head down, which is great! I feel kicks on my right side, from my belly button up to my ribs, quite often. So the risk of this baby being breech are slim to none. I've gained 2 lbs since my last appointment, which is a grand total of 24lbs. I feel like I'm right where I should be & continue to pray for an easy end to the pregnancy & a healthy little baby!
